With a population of about 17,000 residents, Woodmere is one of the Long Island community called the Five Towns, which consists of the villages of Lawrence and Cedarhurst, the hamlets of Woomere and Inwood, and “The Hewletts.” These communities that make up the Five Towns are all located within the Town of Hempstead. Woodmere is served by a great educational system, with several schools including the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach High School and Lawrence Woodmere Academy. Several modes of transportation within Woodmere include the Long Island Rail Road system and 2 MTA Bus routes. Because of its location within the Town of Hempstead, Woodmere is surrounded by numerous shops, restaurants, museums, recreational facilities, and numerous other attractions. Some of the most popular places of interest include the Norman J. Levy Park and Preserve, The Mall at the Source and Roosevelt Field, Jones Beach, and the Lido Beach Golf Course.
