With a population of about 8,000 people, Yorktown Heights is a community located within the Town of Yorktown in Westchester County, New York. Yorktown is a town with a population of about 37,000 people and is situated in the suburbs of New York City. The town is only 38 miles north of midtown Manhattan. The region was one of the first areas in New York to be inhabited by the Native Americans. In 1788, Yorktown was officially incorporated and named after Yorktown, Virginia, where a major battle of the Revolutionary War took place.
