About Butner
Butner is a charming town located in Granville County and has a population of about 6,000 residents. The town was officially incorporated in 2007 after being managed by the state of North Carolina since 1947. The town is also the former site of the U.S. Army’s Camp Butner, which was named for Major General Henry W. Butner, who was a native of North Carolina. The Butner Federal Correctional Institution is also located in the nearby the town.
