Although only 8,000 residents live in Bryan, the Williams County city serves as an intersection between many larger cities. In fact, Bryan was named as America’s “30th Best Small Town.” Cleveland lies 170 miles to the east while Columbus is 165 miles to the southeast. Toledo is just 75 minutes away on the I-80 with Detroit a mere two-hour drive. Developed from a rich heritage, Bryan was part of the Toledo War where both Michigan and Ohio laid claim to the land in 1835. Residents of an apartment or house for rent in Bryan are therefore encouraged to take part in all of the cultural events the city has to offer. The city of Brian has evolved into an important industrial center and home to Spangler Candy Company, producer of Dum Dum lollipops, and the Ohio Art Company, designers of the Etch-a-Sketch. Besides convenient flights out of Toledo Express Airport, Bryan is also served by Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited, linking the city to Chicago and Detroit. Residents of a Bryan house or apartment rental have access to six local schools, with many of Bryan’s youth traveling into the cities to continue their educations. Other attractions include the 1890 Courthouse and more than fifteen local parks.
