Just 20 minutes outside of Dayton, Ohio, Englewood serves as Dayton’s northernmost suburb. Although over 12,000 people reside in Englewood, the city has maintained its unique charm since its construction in 1913 after the Great Dayton Flood. Alongside the west bank of the Stillwater River, the city of Englewood was initially created as a base for constructing a dry dam along the river’s banks. Located on Dayton's North Main Street, residents of an Englewood apartment or home rental have easy access to the resources of the much larger Dayton community. Residents of an Englewood home or apartment for rent who choose not to commute into Dayton have a slew of options available in their neighborhood. Hoke Plaza is Englewood’s largest shopping center. Some other attractions include the Englewood MetroPark and Aullwood Audubon Center. Englewood is part of the Northmont City School District that includes 7 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and a high school. The Earl Heck Community Center provides residents with free exercise, yoga, and fitness programs in addition to organized sports for Englewood’s youth.
