A scenic, 11-mile drive eastward along the shoreline of Lake Erie on the I-90 will lead to the city of Euclid. With a population of just over 52,000, the Cuyahoga County city is part of the Greater Cleveland area. Settled in 1796, the city of Euclid not only serves as a suburban neighborhood for those who work in Cleveland, but also local headquarters for 150 companies. Besides the efficient interstate system that runs right through Euclid, both the CSX and Norfolk & Southern railroads serve the city in addition to buses from the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. Most residents of a Euclid house or apartment for rent travel into Cleveland for work. Residents of a Euclid apartment or house rental enjoy award-winning and leading services that are easily accessible on a daily basis. The public library system ranked third in the nation while the local high school was ranked fifth in the state. Euclid is also the home of the Softball Hall of Fame as well as the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame. Despite its proximity to Cleveland, Euclid hosts a range of activities for residents including Lakefest water activities, park concerts, and year-round recreation programs.
