About Huron
Situated at the mouth of the Huron River, the city of Huron sprawls over 7 square miles along Lake Erie. Once a trading post in 1792, the city expanded to form a waypoint between rail and water transportation. The port of Huron is still in use today, accommodating cargoes of iron ore and limestone from freighters. Currently, the city is rebuilding the waterfront to include a diverse range of retail shops, restaurants, bars, and activities to enhance the city’s lifestyle. Residents of a Huron apartment or house for rent will enjoy a fun town setting with many job opportunities and weekend activities year-round. Bowling Green State University’s BGSU Firebrands satellite college campus is located in Huron as is Huron Playhouse, a campus for BGSU’s theater and film school.
