The City of Tecumseh was born overnight when the region was rushed by settlers during the Land Run of 1891. This Land Run was one of only two ever held for individual towns in Oklahoma. Regardless, the city has grown consistently to its present population of 7,000 Oklahomans who reside 42 miles east of the state’s capitol along the I-40 corridor. Residents of a Tecumseh house or apartment for rent find that the area provides a quiet, suburban living far enough from the city yet still offering convenient transportation during the work week. Tecumseh and its residents place a high level of importance in annual festivals and activities. As a matter of promoting the community aspect of the city, most residents can be seen helping plan or just simply participating in the area’s many events including Frontier Days, Frontier Days Softball Tournament, Hometown Independence Day Celebration, and the Artist Promenade. Residents of an apartment or home for rent in Tecumseh can also enjoy the beautiful Tecumseh Lake and Fire Lakes Golf Course in addition to the local Tecumseh Historical Museum.
