About Moosic

At the junction of the I-81 and I-476 is the town of Moosic, home to almost 6,000 residents. Part of Lackawanna County, Moosic is 6 miles south of Scranton, the nearest sizeable city, although it is also 120 miles north of Philadelphia. A former coal-mining region on the Lackawanna River, the town has seen its largest industry decline to almost nothing, but has recovered well since the devaluation of coal.
