Over 10,000 residents call Millington home, near the Mississippi River and 18 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee. The Naval Support Activity Mid-South Naval Base is located in the city and is the single largest employer in the area. Because of the disproportionately large military community, the local economy is booming with federal grants and has led to the construction of several retail areas in the city.
