Oakton is a beautiful suburb of the Washington – Arlington metro area, and it has a population of about 30,000 residents. Located in Fairfax County of Virginia, Oakton has easy access to major cities including Washington D.C., Arlington, and Alexandria, and all that these cities have to offer. Some famous residents that have lived in the area include author, Robert Dorr, and author and former astronaut, Thomas David Jones. Education opportunities in the area include that of Flint Hill School, and Oakton High School. Although Oakton is mostly residential, the community can find excellent shopping, dining, and attractions within major cities located only several miles away.
