About Quincy

With a population of over 5,000 residents, Quincy is located in Quincy County, central Washington. Before the establishment of Quincy, the region was used by Lord Thomas Blythe, a Scottish nobleman, for horse and cattle ranges. The town was founded as a railroad camp during the construction of the Great Northern Railway in 1892. Quincy was eventually incorporated in 1907. It is said that the area gained the name Quincy when the name was chosen from a list of names by Jim Hill’s daughter, who hadn’t even been to the area. The most popular attraction in Quincy is the Quincy Aquatic Center, which is a fun water park that provides activities for the entire family. Quincy also contains many beautiful and relaxing parks that offer great outdoor and recreational activities.
