With a population of about 16,000, Silverdale is a beautiful city located in Kitsap County. Although the city has pressed for incorporation, Silverdale remains an unincorporated city. The area where Silverdale is now situated was first explored by loggers, who cut down most of the prime trees in the area during the growth of the logging industry. However, the logging industry moved away from the area, and immigrants from the Scandinavian Peninsula arrived in the area, and turned it into great farmland and an agricultural region.
