The beautiful city of Delafield is located in Waukesha County, along the Bark River, and has a population of about 7,000. The incorporated city of Delafield and the Town of Delafield are separate municipalities. The city was first established in 1837 in the hills of Kettle Moraine. The city, located just 30 minutes west of Milwaukee, also surrounds Lake Nagawicka. The city is home to historic and popular places such as Hawks Inn, St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, and the Nashotah House. The city of Delafield boasts historic sights, antique and specialty shopping, fine restaurants, lodging, and a variety of recreational activities year round. The city also has two excellent shopping districts, as well as a fascinating downtown district. Delafield also hosts numerous community festivals and celebrations throughout the year such as Delafield Days, Lake Country Women’s Club Art Fair, the Woodcarvers’ Show, and the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. The city also has many parks and hiking trails that offer great recreational activities, such as golf, biking, hiking, and fishing. Delafield is also home to the Olympic size Naga-Waukee Ice Arena, which is open all year.
