With a bustling population of about 29,000 residents, the city of Oak Creek is located in Milwaukee County. The city is also located along the western shore of Lake Michigan and about 85 miles from Chicago. The city was incorporated in 1955, and is protected from annexation by the neighboring city of Milwaukee by law. Two major companies located in Oak Creek including the Oak Creek Power Plant and the Black Bear Bottling plant. Recently, the city has attracted many new residents because of its small town appeal, but with all of the amenities of and urban city. Many residents have also been attracted to the city because of the professional sports and cultural activities that can be found in Oak Creek. Some of the exciting events that take place in Oak Creek include an Outdoor Concert Series, Fourth of July festival, Pig and Chicken Roast, Halloween Trick or Treat, Veteran’s Day celebration, and Christmas Tree Lighting. The city also consists of 22 distinct neighborhoods, all of which are excellent places to live in.
