About Windsor

Located in Dane County, Windsor is a beautiful town that has a population of about 6,000 residents. In the past, there have been some disputes over ownership of the land between Windsor and the Village of De Forest. Although settlers passed through the region in the late 1830’s, the first settler to live in the town was William Lawrence, who came from the state of Vermont in 1841. James Morrison also settled in the area in 1843, which is now known as Morrisonville. The village is also home to the Lake Windsor Country Club and Meadow View Golf and Driving Range. Windsor is a charming village with the appearance of a rural community, but has all of the great public services that an urban city has to offer to all of its residents.
